Nomo

Nomo decided to retire from professional baseball. He is a pioneer of Japanese player in the major leagues. I had believed his comeback, but he could not make it. Nevertheless we will remember and praise his feats.
On the other hand, Kimiko Date, A Japanese woman tennis player, returned professional tennis. She shows us an indomitable spirit too.
They are my age, and I would be tough like them.

On Sunday

On Sunday, Mari went to her laboratory to do overtime. I and Ken went to a nearby children's pool. Sometimes Ken choked on water, but he was not afraid it at all. After that, he played in a park and got muddy. I got a suntan except for the part of my swimming cap.

We made three bottles of apricot jam. Ken helped me: cut and seeded apricots. The jam has a sour taste, but Ken readily accepted it. He had it with yogurt.

On Saturday

On Saturday, Mari went to a wedding of her friends. She came back home late and told me that we should run in the Honolulu marathon. I did not see what she was talking about, and I asked her to go into more detail. She said; she had heard that the bridegroom proposed to his bride during the Honolulu marathon.
No way. I have not ever seen her running long distance.

On Friday

On Friday, I went drinking to Shinjuku together with Dr. U, a coworker in my former laboratory. We appointed to meet at a ticket shop at 7:30 p.m., but he did not appear in time. He has no cell phone, and I waited him for an hour.
While waiting him, I saw durians for sale in a fruit shop. I love it, but I did not get them. I heard that it is harmful to drink alcohol after eating durians. Of course, it was impossible to take it in the train due to the strong odor.

Photo is a durian, mangos, and mangosteens. I bought them in a supermarket last month.

Three years old

Ken is three years old.

He learned how to use MacBook. He turns it on, runs web browser, accesses to the website of "Thomas the tank engine", and plays with the contents everyday. I am unable to use my MacBook by that reason.

He wants to do anything by himself. "Ken will do it!" He wants to cook, cut vegetables, wash dishes, insert coins, press buttons, open doors, and etc, by himself. He wants to drive my car, but I do not allow him to do. He said that he will become a bus driver in the future.

He often uses dirty language. During dinner in a restaurant, he picked up clam shells and said "Mamma's bra!" When Mari go to the restroom, he cried "Mama is pooping now! Poopoo! Peepee!"
Everybody near our table looked us with sour faces.

Watermelon

"Watermelon may be a natural Viagra", I read such news on the web.
Watermelon is rich in an amino acid called citrulline, which will be converted into arginine in the body. Arginine is a precursor for nitric oxide (NO) and this compound is required for blood vessels dilation. I expect that it may be used to decrease blood pressure, but why Viagra ? I am afraid but citrulline may not have such an organ-specific effect like Viagra.
Citrulline was identified from watermelon in Japan. I do not know why journalists accepted such a big mouth by stupid researchers. More importantly, I would enjoy the summer fruit without such an unnecessary effect.
